NEW HYPERION RECORDS RELEASES, NOVEMBER 2011
The Takács Quartet announces the release of their latest Hyperion Records recording: a pair of discs featuring six Haydn String Quartets, the Opp 71 and 74 of the composer's dazzling maturity.

BEETHOVEN DRAMA PROJECT
In the Fall, the Takács embark on an innovative project with the Colorado Shakespeare Festival. QUARTET, written by David Lawrence Morse, explores the circumstances surrounding Beethoven's composition of the late quartets, integrating musical examples performed by the Takács. Following the drama, the quartet performs Beethoven's String Quartet in A-Minor, Op. 132.

2010-11: SCHUBERT AND NEW WORK IN NEW YORK AND ANN ARBOR
The Takács Quartet will perform a three-concert series focusing on Schubert in New York City (92nd Street Y) and at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor during the 2010-2011 season. The series will feature the New York premiere of a new work composed for the Quartet by Daniel Kellogg, based on the slow movement theme of Schubert's "Death and the Maiden" Quartet; guest pianist Jeffrey Kahane, guest cellist Paul Katz,
and guest bassist Joseph Feeney.
2011: BARTOK CYCLE IN SYDNEY
On April 29 and 30, 2011, the Takacs Quartet will perform the complete Bartok Quartet Cycle in Sydney, Australia.
DEBUT PERFORMANCES AND WIGMORE BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION
The Takács performed for the first time in St. Petersburg, Russia in May, 2010, and they make their Edinburgh Festival debut in August 2010. In May 2011, they take part in the Wigmore Hall's 110th Birthday Concert performing the Brahms Piano Quintet with Stephen Hough.
